Spectrum Sensing

Cognitive Radios establish communication links based on oportunistic principles whenever an spectrum vacancy is detected. Therefore, one of their main funcions if to scan the spectrum for vacancies (and to avoid interfering with licensed users).  The requirements for such function are different from conventional signal reception, mainly higher scan bandwidth but lower SNR, threfore solutions can be considered optimized for this particular function. We propose to use compressive sampling techniques to perform the spectrum sensing functionality.
