Research activities
Diego Mateo received the M.S. degree in Telecommunications Engineering and Ph.D. degree with honours in Electronic Engineering, both from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), Barcelona, Spain, in 1993 and 1998 respectively.
He is currently a full-time Associate Professor at the Department of Electronic Engineering of the Telecommunication Engineering School of Barcelona, UPC. During 2002 he was with the High-Speed and RF Design Group, Wireless Research Laboratory, Lucent Technologies, at the Bell Labs, Murray Hill, working on the design of RF front-ends for base stations and the analysis of the effects of substrate noise on RF blocks. He has co-authored one book, 16 international journal papers, and over 50 conference papers. He holds eight patents. His research interests include mixed-signal and RF integrated circuits, substrate noise problems, UWB-IR circuitry and RF characterization by thermal monitoring.
